With over 15 years of experience at the dynamic intersection of engineering, design, and innovation, Swapnil leads the Product Experience team at Elephant Design, crafting solutions that seamlessly blend physical and digital experiences. He holds a postgraduate degree in Industrial Design from IIT Delhi and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune, and is a certified Associate Value Specialist from the Society of American Value Engineers (SAVE).
Swapnil began his career supporting global clients in semiconductor, automotive, and appliance domains through the Engineering & Industrial Services vertical of a leading IT giant. Before joining Elephant, he worked with major Indian conglomerates, designing and developing products across categories such as home appliances, luminaires, fans, water heaters, switchgear, and inverters.
At Elephant, Swapnil has steered the creation of phygital products—from industrial-scale solutions to intuitive digital platforms—across industries like Healthcare, Automotive, FMCG, Home Appliances, IoT, and Educational Toys. His leadership spans concept-to-manufacturing, prototyping, scalable execution, and UI design for SaaS and mobile apps. He heads cross-disciplinary teams of designers, engineers, and model makers, delivering impactful solutions for brands such as Symphony Coolers, Tata Chemicals, Asian Paints, Titan, MTR, Future Group, Jubilant Foodworks, and numerous startups.
A strategist at heart, Swapnil’s multidisciplinary approach bridges user needs with business goals. He excels in user-centric research, agile digital development, prototyping, testing, and lifecycle management. His leadership style is empathy-driven, iterative, and results-focused, and he is passionate about mentorship and fostering creativity—both within his team and through academic engagements, including guest reviews at MIT Institute of Design, Pune.
Beyond Elephant, Swapnil served two years on the National Executive Council of the Association of Designers of India (ADI) and frequently speaks and teaches at institutions such as KSID, NIT Rourkela, and DY Patil University.
