Anand Palsodkar

Design Director, Product Innovation

Anand studied Industrial Design at IDC, IIT Bombay in 1997 after his graduation in mechanical engineering. Prior to masters in design, he worked on a product development of a step-through motorcycle at Kinetic Engineering, a 2-wheeler manufacturer.

At Elephant Design, Anand leads a team of designers and engineers in Product innovation vertical. He has worked on several design programs for Indian and multinational brands notably Nissan, GE, P&G, Standard Chartered, CEAT Tyres, Godrej, Nirlep Appliances, Symphony Coolers, Paperboat and works on medical & healthcare devices amongst others. In recent past he has worked on UX design assignments for healthcare equipment. He has worked on several design research projects for industry segments ranging from automobiles, healthcare, banking and FMCG.

He believes that for designers, having a good understanding of human behavior and motivations is key to a successful design solution.

Anand enjoys guiding students and aspirants to design education. He is a visiting faculty at Symbiosis Institute of Design and University of Pune. He has spoken at design forums organized by IDC, IIT Mumbai and CII. Anand was also invited to mentor start-ups during Smart India Hackathon 2018 promoted by the Prime Minister of India.

An avid trekker and badminton player, on a weekend you could join him for a hike on the slopes of Sahyadris.
