Football's Indian Renaissance

Founded in 2013 as a partnership between Reliance, IMG, and Star Sports, the Indian Super League represents the most extensive effort to elevate football in India. With a rich sporting history dating back to the 1888 Durand Cup, ISL aims to provide wider exposure for football while encouraging promising athletes to pursue the sport professionally. Now boasting 10 teams and 5 successful seasons, ISL has achieved international quality standards while attracting both local and global celebrity team owners.

Premium Athletic Expression

ISL sought to position itself as India's premier football competition with a sophisticated yet dynamic visual identity. They required a cohesive system that could both unify the league and distinguish individual teams, while adapting to diverse stadium environments. The branding needed to capture the spirit of pride and community among fans and players alike, establishing ISL as the standard-bearer for professional football in India while accommodating the practical realities of large-scale sporting event production.
