Developed for Godrej Professional's new hair care line, this floor standing unit combines the brand's signature curl element with practical display functionality, enabling clear product differentiation while fitting seamlessly into diverse salon environments.
The Professional Edge
Godrej Professional represents the Godrej Group's specialized offering in the multi-billion-dollar global hair care and styling industry. The brand had launched a comprehensive range of hair care products designed to address diverse hair types and specific needs. In the competitive salon retail environment, Godrej Professional needed an effective point-of-sale merchandising solution that would showcase their products effectively while building brand awareness. They approached Elephant Design to create a Floor Standing Unit (FSU) that would display their product range in salons throughout India, requiring a solution that could cut through visual clutter while maintaining brand consistency.
Affordable yet Premium Hair Care
Godrej Professional aimed to position their products at the intersection of premium quality and approachable accessibility. Their target environments included standalone salons and hyperlocal chains where space constraints and existing visual competition presented significant challenges. The design needed to reflect the brand's identity while inviting customer engagement and supporting informed decision-making. Godrej Professional required a solution that would establish a consistent, professional presence across varied salon contexts while maintaining the flexibility to highlight different product variants.
An Intuitive Shopping Experience
The design integrates carefully selected materials and finishes that complement the brand's visual assets while enhancing the display's function. Chrome-finished brand elements at the unit's top mirror the packaging's cap detailing, with optional backlighting for visibility. The unit's organization prioritizes customer understanding through dedicated shelf space for each product variant, complemented by clear variant identification. Ingredient patterns and colours from the packaging are incorporated as shelf markers, creating an intuitive shopping system. The upper portion features an illuminated and changeable visual space for brand imagery, allowing flexibility for promotional updates.
Curl-Inspired Architecture
The display unit's distinctive curved edges and central cut-out directly reference Godrej Professional's signature "Curl" brand element. This design approach transforms a functional retail fixture into a three-dimensional brand expression, creating instant recognition in crowded salon environments.
