Fonterra, the largest dairy producer in the Southern hemisphere, approached Elephant Design to reposition their Pediapro School Champs Milk Formula for children aged 4-6 years in the Sri Lankan market. While the product already possessed established nutritional excellence with scientific credibility, its packaging needed enhancement to connect with local audience priorities. The brand faced the challenge of highlighting how its premium formulation, particularly the Iron and Omega-3 content, directly supported cognitive development and academic performance – a growing priority for Sri Lankan parents.
Education Nutrition Champion
: Pediapro aimed to position itself as the definitive nutrition partner for educational excellence in Sri Lanka, connecting its scientific expertise with parents' academic aspirations for their children. This vision was translated through packaging that maintained international premium standards while incorporating sophisticated educational motifs arranged in star patterns, interactive learning elements, and strategic highlighting of ingredients supporting cognitive function. By balancing scientific authority with emotional engagement, Pediapro sought to demonstrate how its comprehensive nutrition profile makes children "School Champs" – supporting all-round development while emphasizing educational achievement.

The team linked key nutritional credentials with educational context. Iron and Omega-3 content are highlighted for cognitive development support. Premium finishes reinforce international quality standards and scientific expertise.

The team retained the adventurous lion mascot, which is now engaged in play on the graphics. This character maintains their international appeal while resonating locally.
In an ingenious twist, the team integrated an interactive maze game into the packaging design. QR codes link to extended educational content beyond the physical package. Engagement elements transformed Pediapro’s packaging into a valuable learning tool.
The brand experience extends beyond the shelf through digital integration. Pediapro’s mascot creates an emotional connection while teaching nutritional benefits, where character-driven storytelling reinforces their educational positioning.
