Engaging session with students of design from GLS Institute Of Design.

A very engaging session with students of design from GLS Institute Of Design. It was an open hashtag#AMA session with Ashwini & Ashish followed by studio walk-through by Ramaa & Nayonika. The conversations ranged from hashtag#design to hashtag#AI to facing failures or creative blocks and even running business in the times of gig economy.
As always, it was our pleasure to host this group of 30+ bright students at our cafe & studios.

We got exciting opportunity to read, comprehend and design a very relevant book calledDance of Disruption and Creation

While grappling with challenges of the pandemic in 2021, we got this exciting opportunity to read, comprehend and design a very relevant #book talking about the disruption and how may we deal with it.
The book is co-authored by Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad batchmates Neeraj Chandra and Nandu Nandkishore and is published by Routledge, UK.
In this book, you will find insights, commentary, illustrations and exercises that are thoughtfully designed by our team to bring authors' vision to life.
The book promises to help build competitive advantage, re-invent markets & enterprise and above all, to make the world a better place

Our packaging design for Tata Sampann's Yumside

Our packaging design for Yumside focuses on four key ideas - Convenience, Deliciousness, Mood, and Occasion - to create a homogenous yet distinguished packaging system for an expanding portfolio of offerings. Yumside's packaging highlights the abundance of fresh, natural ingredients, conveying nutrition, freshness, and taste. The design also includes serving suggestions and prioritizes nutritional aspects such as the absence of preservatives or artificial colors + flavors. Here's to taste, nourishment, and wholesomeness coexisting with convenience and hassle-free cooking!

The most sustainable packaging will be “no packaging”
interpack, the largest international packaging fair for food, beverages, pharmaceutics, cosmetics and non-foods took place at Dusseldorf after six long years and the focus was on #sustainability & #connected packaging. As we work on many #packagingdesign projects at Elephant Strategy + Design, it was a great exposure for us to see where the industry is heading and if there is hope, after all.

Ashwini Deshpande as a jury for concurrent DFA Design for Asia Awards

Business of Design Week known as #bodw has been one of the most significant conferences about #design in and for #Asia.
Ashwini have had the opportunity to attend this conference as a speaker and also as a jury for concurrent DFA Design for Asia Awards on many occasions.
This marquee event in Hong Kong is celebrating 20 years!
Looking forward to this year's sessions and also her panel discussion on #Asian #Communication #Design.

If a #design solution has to become meaningful and valuable for intended set of users or communities, understanding their culture & subculture becomes imperative for getting rich insights.
When MIT ID Indore team asked us if #culture is dead, we vehemently denied. We believe culture evolves and revolves. There is no beginning and no end.

Ashwini Deshpande at AD STARS in Busan

ideation, workshops, pitches, and of course some brand launches (Tata Consumer Products #SimplyBetter, #TataColdCoffe, Floryo) ... and welcoming new colleagues at Elephant Design Pvt. Ltd. August was busier than usual, to say the least.
On other front, online & in-person jury, a panel discussion & short talk for AD STARS in Busan, S Korea, an engaging #DESIGNxDESIGN discussion online hosted by Alliance Française de Delhi, a short talk on #DesignThinking for TiE Pune TiE Women competition finalists and then an online jury for #DesignForAsia awards by Hong Kong Design Centre is how I ended August.
But I always feel there is more to do next month.
